From sea to shining sea, we converged on Vermillion and Meckling to remember the good things in life. The quiet towns and the friends from long ago. Marylin ran into a friend from her school
days in the Hy-Vee restaurant, nearly 50 years between their last meeting. That wouldn't happen many places. As the family grows and spreads across this great land, we each look forward to this event. The
elders share the accomplishments of their children and grandchildren. The children meet their distant cousins, uncles, aunts, and new additions. And those of us who have married into this wonderful and funloving
family attempt to keep track of every encounter. There were many that did not attend this year's event and were sadly missed. The weather was fantastic, the mosquitos even larger, the food was nice, and the
gatherings were greatly enjoyed. For the younger ones, learn the family history, for it will be your duty some day to share the beginnings of the Sherks and Moores, which now includes the Hollingsworths,
Turners, O'Conners, Johnsons, Browns, and many more. |
